Fiber-optic cables
Also called optical fibers or fiber optic
Is a fiber made of pure glass, the high and long and in the thickness of the hair of the head, it combines many of which are within the cable and used to publish and send the signal over long distances.
The optical fiber consists of: -
1. heart: a thin cylindrical glass
2-brow: material surrounding the heart and working to maintain the light inside
3-protective cover: It is an external plastic casing protected from breakage and humidity
And hundreds of these fibers are optical cord
Features fiber optic: -
1. Do not burn so safe from combustion.
2. it needs less energy than regular cable.
3. The lack of signal interference per cord.
4. lighter than copper wire.
5. slimmer than copper wire.
6. greater ability to carry information from the copper wire.
These fibers are used in the field of communications, military field where hard spying on them, and in the medical field in endoscopes.
